Steven Nathaniel Wolkoff Foundation

Many of you have asked where you can send contributions and if it’s appropriate to send flowers. Steve’s family asks that you please refrain from sending flowers. Instead, they have established a foundation to memorialize Steve.

The Steven Nathaniel Wolkoff Foundation will honor Steve’s memory by funding programs that support recreation, education, and environmental causes. Below is a note from Steve’s mom with more details:

In Honor of Steve Wolkoff, The Steven Nathaniel Wolkoff Foundation

A foundation has been formed in honor of Steve Wolkoff. The foundation is an opportunity to honor Steven’s name and keep his voice alive. The mission will be to support work addressing the issues that were important to him: recreational (local ultimate teams, parks and common green areas), educational (he would have loved to create an educational center/think tank), and addressing environmental problems and solutions.

The current address is:
c/o Sandy Wolkoff, 29 The Circle, The Knolls, Glen Head NY 11545.
The new ID-EIN number for the Steven Nathaniel Wolkoff Foundation is 26-2864582.

Donations can also be sent directly to Chase Bank:
27258 Grand Central Pkway
Floral Park, NY 11005

We wanted something for Cindy and our family to do for the future, and in the future, as we all try to recover, and we are confident that this can be a way to make sure that Steven continues to make a difference in the world.

With gratitude,

The family and friends of Steven Wolkoff

  1. We are devastated by the news of Steve’s tragic death and of Cindy’s critical condition. We did not know Steve or Cindy. The accident occurred less seconds ahead of us. The driver who caused the accident had speeded passed us earlier. We pulled over and I immediately tried to give assistance. Cindy was dazed but able to give me their names and address so I could write it down and give it to the first responders when they arrived. I cut her out of the seatbelt that was against her neck, placed my sweatshirt under her arm and face, and kept her talking while we waited for the Med helicopter. My husband and I were in route to Big Sur (from Atlanta) when we arrived at the scene of the accident. I was unable to access information about Cindy or Steve until today. Like Steve, I am an artist and art teacher. Please convey our deepest sympathy to Cindy and to Steve’s family. Cindy will remain forever in my thoughts and prayers. Our lives, if only for a short while, were bound together by inextricable fate.

  2. Donna – I’ve responded via email to your comment, but please know that we appreciate it so much. You are truly amazing.
