We love you Cindy

We’ve been trying to keep these updates short and positive. But I don’t think there is any reason to ignore or gloss over the fact that although Cindy is healing, making progress everyday, she is in pain. Everyone I spoke to yesterday said that Cindy was feeling a lot of pain after her last surgery, and not seeing any visitors. A pain specialist was coming to see her.

Although she’s not quite up to talking on the phone, Cindy does have her computer. If you do not have her email address and would like to send her warm wishes and supportive words to help her through this difficult time please do. You can leave your thoughts in the comments section, or email them to me or Ginevra and we will pass them on to her.

  1. Hey Cindy!

Not a day — no, hour — goes by without us mentioning you. Several times a day I cannot help but ask Myryah if she’s heard any updates of your condition. She’s very good with networking on the computer, as you know, and she’s been corresponding with your loved ones through email, IM and this blog whenever there’s chance… morning, noon and night. Occasionally, I wave to her and say, whaddup!” [For anyone at the office who may be reading this, she's holding down her end of the workload, as well.]

We had the honor of attending Steve’s funeral and it was wonderful to connect a face with all the (nick)names from the stories you and Steve shared with us. Amazing, loving people. After listening and talking to many of the folks who attended, I feel I know Steve more than I ever did as a next door neighbor. This is my fault, I am a bit introverted (I can’t help it). He did put in the effort, though. For example, he always seemed so eager to help me with any of my computer problems. I feel that if I had given him the chance, he would have helped me with some “life” problems. Even though I had several years on him, at times he seemed as bright and wise as an elder.

And speaking of age, Vivian is growing so fast! She’s constantly making us laugh. She can’t wait to see Aunt Cindy again. (You know how she loves to fly). In fact, we’re looking for a pair of “flying pants” for her. Where did you get yours again? So whenever you feel well enough to have us, we’ll come over. Let it be soon, though, because Myryrah is losing sleep.

I love you and wish you well,
    Kevin

  4. Hello Sweet Cindy!

There’s so much positive and truly loving energy swirling about you, I truly hope you can feel it!! Scott and I have been thinking and talking about you and Steve with such admiration over this last week (since we met you both, really… ) and hope, more than I can put into words, for your recovery in health and spirit.

Myryah’s always been a great connector of friends, but we really thought she hit the nail on the head when meeting you two. Steve’s smile and enthusiasm were absolutely contagious – he made us both feel like the most interesting people he had ever known, even when talking about mundane sorts of things like skateboarding injuries and what cookbooks we just bought. Your ease together was so comforting… it affected us immediately and each time we had the chance to spend time with you. Guitar Hero though, that was a completely different story…

I’m certain you’ll be surrounded by much care and support over the coming months, but please know that we’d love to see you when you’re up and about. There’s a special little place in St. Helena that’s ready for you anytime!

    All our love,
    Scott & Bree

  5. Thinking of you every day cindy. We all miss you so much at work. I am lost wihtout your good taste here. I am afraid by the time you get back the store will be full of tacky nic nacs. All of your customers are asking about you- all of you coworkers miss you every day.

The currants have all ripened and they remind me of you every time I see them…

  8. I heard about your terrible tragedy through Steves Dad. He put up some links so we could better know who Steve was. I just want you to know that many people you’ve never met are feeling a small part of your loss, and praying for your full recovery. Be strong & God Bless.
